Behind Closed Doors: Curiosity Cabinets.

Last night was my very first exhibition! It was the closing reception for Behind Closed Doors, and it was a SUCCESS! The food was great, the company was awesome, and the art was out of this world. I am so proud of everyone! I couldn't be happier.

I love them.

Can I just announce how much I love this home from The Selby.
And yes, it MAY be because that cat is painfully cute!

I...

Dear Friends,

I saw Paper heart and it was really freaking cute.

I sold three paintings at the show + sale at my school.

I love the lamp my Dad and Step mom got for Theron and I.

I had two AMAZING brunches in a row with my family.

I have the best boyfriend, he cleaned our apartment.

I am in a show coming up, so I am VERY busy right now. Eek!

I apologize for my lack of posting. I ain't gots the time!

Best,

Julia

My short lived modelling career

I found these old pictures on my Mom's computer. They are pictures from when I was 16 when I tried out modelling. I really enjoy the nature of the posing. Haha. I was being directed, so unfortunately I can't take credit for that!

Glitter and glitter givaway

OK, I have a couple warnings before you guys attempt this. 1) It is more of a sand than glitter, I do add glitter to it 2) it stinks and 3) it really stinks! That being said it is a very nice experiment and can have some really cool effects.
First Step: Preheat your oven to 350 F.
Second Step: Add food colouring to salt (it is up to you to choose how much). Mix the colouring in with the salt. I crush it with the back of a spoon until it is all mixed together.
Third Step: Cover a cooking sheet in tinfoil and then spread the new salt mixture onto it.

Fourth Step: Place the cookie sheet into the oven and cook it for about 10 minutes. Take the mixture out of the oven.

Fifth Step: Add in store bought glitter and mix it up if you want a more flashy look.

There you go! Use it as you may.
I decided to make an art piece using this glitter to show you guys how I might use it. And as an extra special bonus I am offering a giveaway to one lucky ready. It is the piece below. It is a small canvas board with covered in pink paint and the made glitter. It has a layer of resin on top.
Comment below. I will announce the winner on December 1st!
